NEW IN // ASOS LACE

I'm a big believer in treating yourself. I actually do this so much that my bank account is probably crying at the thought of another small 'treat'. Recently I have been lusting over lace lingerie and for the price you can get these gorgeous pieces at asos, it would be silly not to purchase! Theres something so satisfying about wearing lovely, delicate underwear during the day that just makes you feel good about yourself and completely accomplished for the day (especially if it matches).

So sorry for not blogging this weekend as i had a few days completely away from social media in Belfast which was much needed! However I'm heading to Amsterdam this weekend and will be highly publicising my trip on my instagram, so give me a follow if you want to keep up with that! Also, any recommendations of places to visit/eat/drink in Amsterdam will be very much welcomed!

Exercise At Work | The Office Genie

Seeing as its January and those gym memberships are still in full swing, why the heck wait until you get to the gym to start getting your body actually moving during the day? Sitting down all day working is something that most of us do, and by 4pm I can actually feel how stiff and lethargic my body is, which in turn actually puts me off going to the gym in the first place. Exercise to me, is one of those things that you have to actually do more of it to look forward to it and want to do it.

Powwownow want to encourage people to not only get fit, but to incorporate exercise into the work place, after all isn't it where we spend most of our time? I found this amazing tip that I wanted to share, which is probably the desk exercise I have found the hardest to do- the office genie. Sit cross legged in your chair, and all you have to do is lift yourself up and out the chair by holding the arm rests (still cross-legged) for around 10-20 seconds. Now this is extremely difficult to maintain for such a long time and you can definitely feel the abs and the arms burning by the end. Either that or i'm a complete wuss. I chose this particular exercise to share as I found it is a particular exercise which doesn't require a whole lot of movement, time, attention and stares from fellow colleagues and you achieve such an intense burn at the same time, making it super effective. I also found it actually gets my heart pumping pretty fast, which is fab for an exercise where you're not really moving a whole lot. Also, if you have mastered this, then you can take it to level 2 and do this on a chair with no arm rests and push yourself up from the seat itself- believe me I actually couldn't even hold this for longer than 2 seconds, but its something to strive towards. The Victoria's Secret model body will be ours soon enough!

I hope this small tip has given a few of you a little push to stay fit and healthy in the new year as now there really is no excuse!

Do you have any office exercises?

Cape Town

cape - f&f
culottes - zara

Can you believe this cape was only £9?! I've been lusting over capes for a while now, however my wardrobe is literally full to the brim with jackets that I possibly couldn't justify buying ANOTHER jacket. However after spotting this in the sale section I was left with no choice, even though its a steal at £9 in no way are you compromised with quality and style, as both are perfect. I've teamed it with these ultra comfy culottes, which I am basically living in at the moment until my pale, untoned body transforms itself miraculously for summer! These were also a steal in the Zara sale, which is definitely better than past Zara sales I've endured!

The Fruit Water Bottle

water bottle - tkmaxx

I can't believe I am sitting down to write a post about a water bottle, I mean, how much can a water bottle effect my life I need to write a post on it?! A LOT, it seems. Now this may be surprised but i am one of those freaky people that absolutely hates water. now you may say: 'how can you hate water, it doesn't taste of anything?!'....exactly. The very fact that water just tastes like absolutely blandness gives me shivers down to my very bones, maybe a slight exaggeration but you get my point.

I used to just grin and bare the taste of water cos, ya know, we need it to survive and all, but now my life has been made. I have discovered this incredible water bottle which allows you to enhance the taste of your water 'a la' chopped fruit. The bottle splits into 4 compartments: the bottom where sliced lemons belong, the 2nd bottom, where berries go, the 2nd top which traps and squeezes the juice of the berries and then the top. This beauty from tkmaxx was only £5.99 however i can't find it on the website, so pop down to your local and do some scouring if you are loving the sound of this. Literally since discovering this I have been savouring the taste of so many fruit combinations in my water and definitely could not go back!

Have you tried any similar bottles to this?

January Wishlist

dee

Its that very peculiar time of year again.. where its still dark when you wake up, still scraping that ice off the car in the morning, however theres no christmas excitement in the air pushing you through those winter days any longer. This is definitely the time of year where I am sat restless waiting and pining for those summer days and nights again. There is also definitely no excuse anymore to sit in and eat and drink my winter sorrows away, as the new year health kick resumes once again. I definitely have plans set to start filming a 'what I eat in a day vegan' type videos this year as everyone is trying to get that health kick, please let me know if this would be useful to any of you!

These are just a few bits that have caught my eye in the new season recently, and this year needs to be the year I invest in a stunning leather jacket such as this beauty from Topshop. Literally probably one of the most timeless and ageless additions to any girls wardrobe. I also cannot get over how 'editorial-esque' this zebra print top is, definitely something which I'm used to seeing styled on a model down a high end catwalk during LFW. And yes, those are sunglasses in my winter wishlist.

Navy Seal

top - zara
culottes - asos
shoes - zara

Alarm bells are ringing.... this jacket is not monochrome. Even though i still mainly wear a monochrome wardrobe, I definitely get these specific wants towards certain clothes which don't follow my wardrobe preferences. However i gave in with this beauty and definitely have not regretted it! can you believe this is a size 14? I wanted something oversized and warm as I'll be heading to Amsterdam in a few weeks and wanted to pack quite light, however I still think I should've gone another size up. I am also in love with this smart, high neck tunic from Zara paired with it. At the risk of looking too 'hood rat' I teamed this outfit with some heeled sandals even if this colder weather spell doesn't agree with them. Also does anyone else find the Zara website extremely user unfriendly? Trying to search and find this top that I bought recently on there and literally cannot work the website!

How is everyone's January? My first week back at work was a HUGE shock to the system so I haven't even had 5 minutes to sit down with my laptop and do some blogging. I'm definitely going to try harder this year to fit blogging into my daily routine, how do you all fit this thang in with a full time job?! All tips welcomed.

Love
