Criminal

top - asos
trousers - f&f

Hellooo, Sorry some of these photos are blurry, I've just got a new camera so I'm still trying to learn the ropes. I've got a canon 700d if anyone would be so kind as to give me some tips, they would be much appreciated!! Also thanks so much to the lovely commenter in my last post who helped me out with my huge photo-resizing issue, saved my life!

With autumn here and winter approaching, I really wanted a fedora hat, badly. And i have fallen in love with this black one from asos, so much so that I think i need to wear it with every outfit to give it that something extra. I have also been loving high waisted, wide legged trousers, mostly because I've been eating more recently (just telling myself its some fat to keep warm in winter) so i can eat as much as I want without feeling my clothes becoming tight and digging into my body, honestly.

On a side note I am super excited for the halloween weekend! What are everyone's plans?

Love,

How I Got Into Blogging

I always knew I was going to write this post but I just never knew when the time was right. However when i was sent this lovely blogging uniform by workwearexpress and cute package, I was asked to write about what I wanted to be when i grew up and also how I got into blogging, so i thought this would be the perfect opportunity!

When i was younger I was OBSESSED with animals. I loved visiting zoos, farms, even bloody pets at home just so it was an excuse to see some furry cuteness. Therefore I spent my whole childhood life dreaming that I could one day be a vet. However, as life does, you grow up and naturally your interests change. I suddenly became too 'cool' to care about animals and I became distracted with all other sorts of things in life such as fashion, my degree, moving away, friends, makeup and of course, blogging.

I definitely fell into blogging by accident. I was going through a really horrid time in my life where I'd just had a break up, and felt constantly lonely and sad, and would spend nearly all day everyday in bed feeling pretty crummy. Then one day I was getting ready to pop to the shop and everything I was trying to do to my eyebrows was just not working for me, and i was undergoing an eyebrow nightmare. So i turned onto YouTube and googled an eyebrow tutorial, and the first one that popped up was Kandee Johnson. That led me to discover her whole channel of makeup tutorials that for a 17yr old girl who had no clue about how to buy/apply makeup properly, was like a whole dream come true! I watched her videos religiously and learnt tons about makeup. It got to a point where I'd look forward everyday to come home from school and watch Kandee's videos as she had such a positive outlook on life and was always happy and smiley in her videos. Eventually watching Kandee's videos actually helped heal whatever pain I was going through in my life and through her i found other beauty Youtubers and fell in love even more with the makeup and fashion world.

I became more and more interested in fashion, and knowing that I wasn't in any position to give beauty advice, I decided to document my everyday outfits on a blog, as I loved reading fashion blogs and was constantly feeling inspired by other girls' outfit combinations. Through doing this, i developed my own kind of style, and the longer i've been blogging, the more I actually love it! I read all your comments and I love all the feedback from my posts and OF COURSE the blogging community.

Even though blogging ins't my career I love having it was a hobby which is completely different from my job. I have really loved finding even more amazing fashion blogs and its led me to develop a passion for travel and photography on the side, which i cannot wait to showcase more on here so watch this space.

Autumn Breaks

Sometimes life can all get away from us very quickly. Ever since starting my new job and working away from home 5 nights a week which, don't get me wrong I am absolutely loving, I've started to really appreciate the weekends and enjoy taking that time out to spend quality time with friends and family to chill and enjoy the small things which I used to take for granted.

I'm currently home for the weekend and have loved just taking a break and go for an autumn walk with my sister. I'm so fortunate to live in a beautiful part of the country, which I have spent my whole life resenting for being 'small' 'boring' 'quiet' but now i am absolutely thankful for. Its such a quaint but perfect part of the country and i'm so glad to call it home, as I'm spending my life in hotels and living an incredibly fast paced and exciting life at the moment!

Hows your weekend going?

Men's Gift Idea: SWIG Hipflask

Remember those days where you used to sneak alcohol in little bottles to parties and nightclubs? .....Yeaaaah me neither. However as the festive season is creeping up upon us (HOW is it october already?!) there is going to be many a party, drinks and gifts exchanged. And this beautiful item can tick the boxes for all 3 of those events. I personally think it is an amazing idea for a boyfriend/dad/brother as a lovely personal, quality gift for them. First of all the packaging is faultless and classic, which to me just screams high end, but to unwrap and find the hipflask sat on an amazing paisley printed cushion was just great attention to detail but still having that masculine feel.

Next on the hipflask. It actually comes attached to the leather pouch with some beautiful neat blue stitching all the way round and it is a lovely, lightweight hipflask as you definitely don't want to be lugging round a heavy hipflask when you're out socialising and what-not. Also, even though I chose the classic black, SWIG also do some beautiful hipflasks with different patterns and colours to tickle everyone's fancy.

To round it off, i think this is a beautiful, amazing quality present for this Christmas and would be perfect for the upcoming party season!

Alternative Styling

jacket - matalan
top - american apparel
trousers - sainsburys
shoes - zara

Today I thought I'd try and do something a bit different. I love to shop at ASOS, Zara, Topshop, Missguided and all those other high street fashion stores, but twhilst I was in Sainsburys the other day doing a little food shop, I wandered past the clothes and saw these super comfy looking trousers for just £10!  That also made me think that there actually are some good clothes shops out there that I barely ever think of going in. So I then went on a mission and ventured into matalan and found this peplum blazer which is perfect for smart/casual work days.

This outfit was basically me just trying to incorporate these items into my everyday wardrobe but I am surprised and actually a bit embarrassed that I never even thought to look at these places for clothes as they are sometimes such a bargain over the usual 'fashion stores' so I definitely won't be missing out their clothing options in the future!

ALSO I am having a HUGE issue with the sizing of my photos at the moment on this blog and cannot for the life of my get all my photos the same width. I've changed the html like usual so they are the same width and it comes up perfect on the preview, but whenever i press publish it always makes the photos go back to original size again! If anyone could please help a gurrl out I would be forever in your debt!!!!! Please and thankyous!

Autumn Wishlist

autumn

Posts are so far and few inbetween right now and i'm so sorry, I'm really never at home due to spending 5 nights a week in hotels and clocking up hundreds of miles on my car every week, however I cannot wait to settle in one location in a few weeks. I can't believe we're in October already but i am super excited for the winter nights to draw in so i can sit by a fire in my onesie with a hot chocolate every night.

I am in love with this unique, simplistic skagen watch and it would be a fab addition to any minimalist's wardrobe. Also i will definitely be purchasing this Lavish Alice blazer/cape as I literally cannot find anything like this anywhere else and it definitely adds a wow factor to an evening outfit.

Love,

Rachel
