Dazed

dress - zara
boots - missguided

Currently typing this post after having such lovely exposure of this blog im in complete awe. Lookbook posted a photo of me on their instagram on sunday and the photo got over 11,000 likes! Even though it may seem like so little for so many, to me, i've never come close to any kind of coverage like this and it was unreal! my phone has been buzzing constantly since which is crazy. Thanks a lot and its starting to feel like my little blog is getting a bit of recognition which is amazing! Check out and follow my instagram if you haven't already! This will be the last outfit post for a at least a few days as i'll be going back home for easter on wednesday which i am so looking forward to and spending time with the fam.

The ASOS Watch

watch - asos (curve)
rings - asos, pandora, pandora, chlobo

A few months ago i was one of the many people who fell in love with the Larsson and Jennings watches, with the silver chain watch in particular. I was offered the watch as a present for my birthday, however i crazily rejected it and used the money for flights to thailand this summer. However since then i've still been lusting after a watch similar, so i searched asos and found the perfect dupe! gorgeous chain metal design and minimalistic style watch, which went out of stock just as i ordered it, however the curve version is still in stock- for now! At £22, its probably the best value piece i've bought this month!

The Triangle Bra

from left - right
forever 21
primark

As the years have gone by since i started wearing a bra, i feel as though i have become wiser with age when choosing the right one. I have gradually strayed away from the push up/two-sizes-two-big-to-make-my-boobs-look-10x-bigger bras with the realisation that i'm never going to have boobs, why spend my whole life being miserable and attempting to pretend i do? I can spend the rest of my life living in comfy, effortless fabric, rather than being strapped into a tight, suffocating corset-type bra. So thats exactly what i did. After buying my first i was completely hooked by the comfort and elegance of the triangle bra so i just kept on buying more and more! My absolute favourite i own still has to be the original primark one which set me back a mere £2, however i love them all and definitely intend to add to the collection as they are so much cheaper than padded, proper bras. What do you think about triangle bras, yey or nay?

The Ted Baker Shopper

I don't know about you but probably the worst reflection of myself is my handbag. I'm an absolute classic example of someone who lives out of their bag. The worst thing i constantly do time and time again is half eat a snack and put the rest in my bag for later, which i'll then go back to in a few hours time and its spilled all in my bag: biscuit crumbs, crisps, chocolate... it really is embarrassing. I took a vow to not live like this anymore and completely simplify my handbag and the things i carry round on the day to day basis, as part of my 'get healthier and more organised' new years resolution. So when i was sent this absolute beauty and cute package from Repertoire Fashion i instantly fell in love. This bag is minimal, amazing quality, perfect size, has gorgeous gold detailing and comes with a separate little clutch. Now i've completely downsized and organised what i'm carrying around with me everyday and feel so much better for it. On this bag's first outing, the first person i saw when i left the house told me how much they loved it! Repertoire Fashion also has a huge range of other amazing designer clothes/bags including Vivienne Westwood which i have definitely set my sights on for the near future!

Slouchy

blazer - forever 21
culottes - asos
boots - zara

Apologies that some of these photos are over exposed.. had this camera a year and still can't work out the perfect settings. This was my outfit for uni today; culottes obviously featuring heavily again due to the fact i can put my feet up and sit cross legged in the library whilst putting the finishing touches to that dissertation. Would definitely wear this over jeans any day. No tightness, no having to undo the top button once you eat a big meal... Theres just something about the oversized fit of the blazer and culottes which i love, the comfiness and the effortless look it gives to such a simple outfit!

jacket - primark

culottes - asos
boots - zara

I'm still in that state of outfit confusion where i can't decide whether its jacket/kind-of bare legs or the huge coat/millions of layers time still. However today i braved the sun and was surprisingly warm in this risky outfit, which probably could be down to the fact i spent my whole day in the uni library. I literally cannot remember a weekend where i didn't spend every waking moment in the library. Anyone who is thinking of going to uni...3rd year is hell!

Home Goals

I'm not sure if many of you know, but i'm currently in my 3rd year at uni and after i graduate i've been lucky enough to have already been offered a graduate job! I currently have no idea where i'll be in the country, however the fact i'm going to have to move out my student house that i currently share with 8 other girls and live on my own in a flat (probably) is pretty daunting. This led me to the dark hole that is pinterest looking for inspo on how to decorate my little flat to try and calm to horrible panic inside me. I actually ended up finding some amazing inspo, i mean, who lives in these kind of places?! are they real?! because these are all definitely my future life home goals.

Marching Forwards

top - topshop
jeans - topshop
black top - topshop
boots - zara

Today's weather was finally something i can call transition weather! It was mild, sunny and definitely had me in the mood for summer. Admittedly i did feel like i was channeling carlton banks in this get up, however i felt like trying out a few outfits that have inspired me recently on tumblr, which i am constantly glued to. I think this was the first time this year i've brought out the sunglasses and i think i've spent the past hour looking through online shops to add to my collection!

Ombre Matte Nails

I've recently been really into attractive looking nails. When i was younger i never had the chance to be able to experiment with nails, as i needed short nails to play the piano and violin, and needed non painted nails for work. However in my current job as a sales assistant for Pandora, Thomas Sabo and other well known jewellery brands, my hands are the centre of attention a hell of a lot. Showing people jewellery, opening cabinets for customers, gift wrapping you name it. Theres no worse feeling of shame then unpainted, dirty messy nails. So recently i've been really into upkeep with them. As i'm so used to having short nails, i didn't want to go ahead and get acrylics straight away, as i still want the option of being able to switch back to short nails. So i opted for these fake grey/black gradient matte nails. They're simple enough to apply, using the adhesive tabs over the glue which has pros and cons within itself, however thats another post.

They stayed on with a lot more 'staying power' than i thought they would, lasting around nearly a week and only coming off because i decided i wanted short nails again for a few days. Also at work i was receiving an unreal amount of compliments on them, with customers and staff shocked they were just a fake packet from boots! The only problem i experienced was that the matte coating started to peel off after a day or two. Now if you don't have a very hands-on job them this might not apply to you, however as I'm using my hands and nails a lot during the day and mostly not even caring about what happens to them, i noticed the matte covering coming off. After about 3 days i also noticed that the tips started to go white, however i wasn't sure if this was just me being careless or not again. However for the price, i would definitely suggest to try these nails if you fancy a mix up or if you're considering acrylics and want to try something similar before taking the plunge!

Cracked Snake Print

culottes - asos
boots - zara

Finally, my first outfit post in what feels like forever. As soon as i saw this sweater on missguided i knew it had to be mine: white, structured and cracked print definitely has me written all over it! When it arrived and i tried it on it doesn't disappoint, lovely quality and also surprisingly comfier than i thought! This paired with culottes and my trusty zara boots is the perfect comfy ensemble which was easy and simple to put together! i hope everyone has a lovely weekend, and if you're celebrating mothers day then i hope your mum gets well and truly spoilt! I wish i could celebrate it properly, however being a mere student and living over 100miles from home with multiple deadlines next week, its pretty impossible!

March Blogger Babes

As i recently went through a blogging 'lull', i found it hard to even turn my laptop on and read blogs, let alone bring myself to create a post. At one point, i hadn't even turned my laptop on for a week, which indicates good and possibly bad. Instead, when i could bring myself to press that on button, i headed straight for travel blogs- for motivation for thailand travel planning and advice blogs/lifestyle blogs, as i think the pressure of everyones amazing outfits on fashion blogs started to bring me down, as i felt a bit like a tiny fish in a huge ocean, which is probably the best way i can put it. So more heavily featured are some lifestyle/travel blogs over the fashion for this month, however i still thought i would feature this AMAZING outfit from fashion vibe.

March Wishlist

One month ago i remember trawling through all the online stores in desperate need to find some clothes that i actually like, and somehow, one month on i literally cannot stay away from the 'add to basket' button! All the online shops are literally on point at the moment, which will absolutely devastate my bank account. However i am loving the new season and i cannot wait to start holiday shopping!

The Clutch Collection

from left to right:
monki
primark
dorethy perkins
m&s

Who doesn't need multiple clutches? I seem to have collected quite a few clutches over the past few years so i thought i would share the current selected favourites with you as i love nosey posts like this myself!

Monki Clutch
This has got to be my absolute favourite and go-to clutch at the moment. I love the fold over minimalistic design and the quality of the material feels like a dream. The fact it can be un-folded into a shopper is a huge plus and such a unique design.

Primark Clutch
I have literally had this trustworthy clutch for about 5 years, which originally set me back around £4. This clutch has seen many drunken nights out and has lived to tell the tale intact! hats off to primark for making such a simple, yet well made clutch.

Dorethy Perkins
My housemates bought this clutch for my most recent birthday and told me they instantly thought of me when they saw it. This clutch is definitely best to use when wanting to create a statement from a basic outfit.

M&S
I've only had this clutch for a week so it has yet to undergo its first outing and i can't for the life of me find it anywhere online! I was given this as a prize for winning tickets to the m&s show recently so i'm hoping it'll show its face online soon! I adore the geometric patterns and the quality of the material.

Religion
This is actually an ipad case, however i fell in love with the marble-esque effect and use it as a clutch. The only downside of this clutch is the material, as its more like a fabric so my fake tan always manages to find a way to transfer onto it!

Are there any clutches that have caught your eye in the stores lately? Let me know in the comments!

10 Ways To Get Happy

Some of you may have noticed that i've recently been finding it hard to post as often as i usually do. I've been feeling pretty low as of late and its been hard to find the motivation to post in between all the things that have been bogging me down. Instead i've been trying to fill my days with positive actions, that have been helping slightly and have given me a breath of fresh air now i'm back and writing a post. Since these things have been helping me, I thought i would share the top 10 things i have been doing to lift my mood!

1. Look after yourself
If this is just to get your hair done, nails done, eat a healthy meal or to have a bath with Lush products and a face mask in the evening, doing any of these will lift my mood as when i'm down i feel as though i have no self worth, so sometimes a little pamper and TLC is what you need after the stresses of everyday.

2. Do a good deed for a stranger
Whether its buying a homeless person a meal, giving someone your seat on the bus or carrying a lady's shopping bags etc. sometimes doing something good for a stranger helps me feel so much better and like i've actually done something worth while and meaningful with the day.

3. Try something new
Sometimes trying something new can give you a bit of excitement and perk up your day, such as trying a new food, booking a new activity, watching a new film or visiting a new place, it can break the little routine rut that i always feel myself fall into.

4. Turn off social media for the day
Reading and viewing what other people are doing with their lives definitely is one of the things that gets me down the most. It can seem as though everyone in the whole world is always on some exciting adventure and the constant updates are definitely not what you need. Also you shouldn't feel the need to constantly update your instagram/twitter/facebook telling people you're at or what you're doing can sometimes ruin the time you're actually having. So put your phone away and enjoy the company you have and actually talk to people and enjoy yourself!

 5. Put pen to paper
There isn't a feeling quite like writing a list or a letter. Writing a letter or story can actually feel rather therapeutic and gives you a break from the digital world yet again.

6. Make something from scratch
Making a cake or a whole meal completely from scratch definitely is a luxury i barely have time for anymore. Making the time to actually cook/bake something from scratch actually gives me a feeling of self achievement that i can actually make something without it going terribly wrong, giving me a bit more positivity!

7. Make the effort to spend time with loved ones
Sometimes its hard to find the time to see people during a full time job/uni. Plan and arrange dates where you can take an hour out of your day at some point and go for a lunch date or chill with your friends/family/partner can really help. Spending time with people who care about you and you know you have lots of fun with with can really be a pick me up.

8. Go for a walk
Getting a breath of fresh air and taking a break from all the stresses of (for me) being in a city, seeing some greenery and dogs running about can be an amazing way of de-stressing.

9. Get your creative juices flowing
Make up a story, paint/draw a picture, film a video, take photos of something you love, write a blog post etc. all help in distracting myself and cheer me up after a long day of lectures. I write this blog mainly because of my love for styling outfits and beauty products, but also as a self therapy.

10. Get up early
This is easier said then done but believe me, on the days where i wake up in the early mornings, i feel like i am so much more productive during the day and i am making the most out of my day. I feel as though i have more energy for the day ahead and i also feel healthier mentally for doing it. So no matter how easy it is to press snooze at 7am... don't do it! Getting up and doing exercise and having a healthy breakfast can make a world of difference.

I hope these tips help you and if you have any suggestions feel free to leave some in the comments!

Love,
Rachel x
