Goodbye October

COAT: ASOS (similar)
TOP: TOPSHOP
JEANS: TOPSHOP (similar)
SHOES: ZARA

I can't believe its the last day of October already, where has 2014 gone?! Before we know it it'll be 2015, the year where I have to get a 'proper' job for the first time ever and I'm definitely not looking forward to that.

I'm also so happy as i set an aim to blog every other day this month and I just about hit it, along with the most hectic schedule I've ever had this month on top of that. I'm definitely setting the same aim and higher next month as sometimes I can forget how much blogging makes me happy when i'm out of the routine, and you can get so bogged down with everyday life like work, uni etc. Hope everyone has a lovely halloween whatever you're doing!

Lace Up

PONCHO/KIMONO: PRIMARK
TROUSERS: TOPSHOP
SHOES: ZARA

Sorry this is my first outfit post in sooo long! I've literally not had a free moment in over a week to take any outfit photos as uni and my job are taking up all my time (sob). I've featured this kimono style poncho in my haul video as I plan to wear it for my approaching hols, however I thought i'd feature is a 'holding onto summer' kind of outfit, as it definitely doesn't fit with the autumn trend.

I've got some exciting things happening next week i can't wait to share with you and I'm so looking forward to a break this weekend with Halloween coming up! What's everyone dressing up as?

Autumn Wishlist

wishlist2

I can't believe i haven't done a 'wishlist' type post since (unless i'm mistaken and can't read) July! Now that the clocks have gone back and each day is colder and colder, i thought it was about time to upload a little selection of the few things i NEED in my life this autumn that i have been loving.

I'm currently in the middle of a very wide search for the perfect long black coat is winter and this topshop coat is in the current lead as i love the oversized-ness (is that a word?) and the huge collar is has. I also cannot believe how amazing and minimalistic those zara sneakers are, any white shoe INCLUDING  a white sole has me absolutely sold. I would also give anything to be the owner of the Larsson and Jennings watch, as i love absolutely every watch they have online!

October Blogger Lovin

Heres a little pick at the blogs I've been loving reading this month! I love taking style inspiration from these ladies as i love every outfit each of them uploads, as they all style so perfectly and effortlessly. I think its so important for bloggers to post these kind of posts, as blogging is such a lovely community to be part of. I hope you enjoy these ladies' blogs as much as I do!

Jewellery Bits: Part 2

NECKLACE: WARREN JAMES

This is my second post on my current favourite jewellery however this time its silver, which I do wear a lot more of. I just find silver is a lot more wearable on a casual basis and i love wearing lots of silver rings.

I also have a 15% discount code for the already amazingly priced Fervour&Allura: RACHELO so theres no excuses to not have their amazing jewellery!

Out My Comfort Zone

As most of you will know, all of my outfit of the day posts, inspirations and ideas are mostly casual wear- give or take with a blazer thrown in. When I was contacted by Weddington Way about a style challenge featuring a bridesmaid dress for Bridal Fashion Week, I considered not taking part due to it not in 'keeping' with the look and outfits I post on my blog. However, most people don't just wear casual outfits every single day of our lives, and sometimes (barely me) we actually have an occasion to attend where we have to dress up. Even though this post doesn't really 'fit in' with the outfits on my blog I thought it would be an interesting little challenge to myself to give my twist on formalwear, along with styling.

BAG: ZARA
LIPSTICK: MAC ANGEL

Shoes and bag
I was once told, always match your bag with your shoes, so since then i've always been conscience, especially when going to an event to keep to this! I went for white to break up the black dress and give it a bit of lift.

Hair
I wouldn't do anything different to my usual styling of hair, long, down and straight with the ends a bit curled as I'm not a huge fan of making your hair pieces of art as the desire to look fancy can sometimes detract away from the beauty of the day.

Makeup
Again would be simplistic and depending on the season of the occasion. A gorgeous glowy natural look with a nude lip such as MAC's angel would go down a treat.

These are just a few picks i would wear with this dress and how i would wear my hair and makeup for the October style challenge!

Jewellery Bits: Part 1

As this unbelievably miserable weather is forcing me inside and unable to take blog outfit photos I racked round my brain to think of something a bit different I could feature on here. I then realised that I do soo may outfit posts, but its not just clothes people wear day in day out. Jewellery is a huge part of making your outfit unique and more 'finished' so I thought I'd show my absolute favourite pieces I've been wearing recently in 2 parts on here, with more silver featuring in the next post.

As everyone knows, my favourite kind of style is minimalistic, so my jewellery has got to be simple also. I first saw these unique, minimalistic pearl designs on @thehautepursuit and i knew as soon as I saw them I needed jewellery like this in my life. I'd never come across Fervour and Allura before but I was so over the moon that they had a bangle and a necklace in the same 'large pearl, small pearl' design that I had been looking for at a fraction of the price! These, including the cross ring are such amazing quality for the price you pay and I love the minimalistic style of them together.

Video: How I Lost Weight

After my weight gain in first year, I did quite a few little changes to my lifestyle to gradually lose the extra weight! I didnt go on a diet or do anything too drastic so I just thought i'd film a little video on the few things I did to lose weight. I did miss out quite a few points as my camera battery died so I thought I'd just add them in here:

Allow yourself cheat meals
If you go on a drastic diet of healthy eating and exercising and don't allow yourself a few meals a week of 'unhealthy' food or food you used to love before you tried losing weight, you might find yourself being miserable or having huge cravings for these foods. Just allow yourself to have a meal or two of whatever food you'd like per week, its not going to make a huge difference to your weight and theres no point feeling miserable just to lose weight.

Don't eat 3-4hrs before bed
I'm not sure if this is an official 'tip' on how to lose weight or not but I did find that this helped me. If I allowed myself to go to bed just a little bit hungry I felt as though i'd burnt off the calories I'd already eaten for dinner so I wasn't storing alot of food for fat during the night.

Breakfast is the biggest meal of the day
You need all that energy for the day ahead and to me, it didn't make sense to have a huge meal at 8'oclock at night just before sitting in front of the laptop/tv for a few hours and then going to bed! I'd heard the phrase: 'eat like a king in the morning, like a prince at lunch and then like a peasant at dinner time.' I just liked getting all my calories in the daytime when i knew i could actually burn it all off doing things during the day, then feeling stuffed and tired in the evening.

All of these tips obviously don't need to be followed and I bet theres plenty more that are useful in weightloss, these are just a few that helped me.

Tailored Up

I've been absolutely loving dressing up casual wear e.g joggers to make up more tailored looks with blazers and sleeveless jackets this autumn! As I already have a white sleeveless blazer, I thought why not go ahead and get a black one! I also cannot get enough of the huuuge range of amazing Missguided blazers at the minute, i'm so spoilt for choice!

Also, due to myself having feet problems and huge issues finding shoes that don't absolutely rip my feet to shreds, these boots are also a definite winner for me, an amazing thick sole and ridiculously comfy.

Forever Monochrome

BOMBER: TOPSHOP
JEANS: TOPSHOP (similar)
SHOES: ZARA

The weather is finally taking a turn for the worse, and I had to battle my way through the winds to get these few shots!  Life is super crazy at the moment but I'm so glad I've stuck to blogging 3 or more times a week in the month of October, and it will only get better throughout to November and onwards which I'm definitely looking forward to! Also, I forgot to mention a few weeks ago, but its been exactly (a bit over now) a year since I decided to only wear the colours black white and grey. I love monochrome and minimalism, so I'm so glad I've stuck to that for a whole year aswell.

Also, the topshop sale launched today and I'm fearing for my bank balance!

Back To Basics

TOP: H&M
LEATHER LEGGINGS: TOPSHOP
TRAINERS: ZARA

This is probably one of the most 'casual/boring' outfits i've posted on here, but i've realised i've put myself under this pressure to always pre plan every outfit post to make sure its perfect and fits in with my blog style. However, sometimes i do just wake up 5 minutes before I have to leave the house and throw on the first thing i see on my clothing rail and hope for the best.

I thought I would include what I wear when i'm not pre planning an outfit, as casual is what most people wear anyways and sometimes these kind of posts are more relatable, as they're closer to everyones taste and you don't have to buy the specific outfit to create this look, most of these items are sold in many high street stores!

Here's a few products I've either been loving for a while or recently tried out last month.  I've been so rushed recently with being in either uni or work 9-5, 7 days a week so sorry if its a bit short or if i haven't explained things properly! Please give it a thumbs up and subscribe if you liked it!

Enjoy!

Personal Growth

JACKET: PRIMARK
SHOES: ZARA

Today was one of those days...I sometimes get those kind of 'umph' days where I feel as though everything i do goes wrong, and no matter what i do it doesn't matter anyway as compared to everyone else its never going to be as good, and i should probably just give up.
Feeling like this is one of the worst feelings, however I thought i'd bring it up on my blog, just incase anyone else feels this- you're not alone! I constantly feel it with my blog, always comparing myself to other, bigger bloggers who work so so hard on their blogs and also at uni and how hard and important this final year is for me and how far behind i already feel.

Sometimes i just have to tell myself comparing myself to other people is silly, everyone has their strengths and weaknesses, and also within the blogging world, everyone supports everyone for each other's different styles and fashion sense, and its one of the most friendly communities i've ever been part of and i'm so grateful for the lovely comments everyone leaves me, i read every single one. I just love to style and make up outfits to post on here and maybe inspire some of your outfit choices, as i know every fashion blog i read gives me inspiration for outfits too! So this was just a little post to anyone who sometimes feels like they're not good enough and why bother doing what you're doing, keep doing what you love, as if you love something you're doing and you're putting your all into it, you're already succeeding! Also, hard work never fails to go unnoticed, so if you do feel behind in work/school, put in those extra hours of researching/reading and studying as it will all pay off in the long run and you will understand it and do well.

Sorry this was such a long post than usual, my fingers hit the keyboard and just kept on going! Hope this helps anyone in a similar situation to mine!

Lab Coat

BLAZER: PRIMARK
SKIRT: TOPSHOP (similar)
TRAINERS: ZARA

This was my first outing of my new primark blazer that i am in LOVE with! Even if my friends call it a labcoat, which, to be fair i can see the resemblance. I have a long blazer/kimono in black that I've featured on my blog a few times and i went to topshop to pick up the white version the other day. However, i went to primark beforehand and saw this which looks basically identical and 1/4 of the price of the Topshop one!

I did feature this blazer on my new Haul Video and also a few others if you want to have a little look! I am sooo happy its the weekend, i feel like i definitely need it after my first week of uni and getting back into the swing of lectures and labs again.
